EGLOO Cam SD Card Usage & Storage: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Hello from EGLOO!

Today, we’re addressing the most frequently asked questions about SD card usage with EGLOO Cam. If you’ve ever wondered about storage capacity, recording duration, or how SD card data is managed, this guide will clear things up!

1. Do I have to use an official EGLOO Cam SD card?

This is one of the most common questions we receive!

While we do sell an official 32GB microSD card on our official store, you are not required to use it.

For those needing larger storage capacity, we support up to 128GB microSD cards, as long as they are genuine products from reputable brands.

2. How long can an SD card store video recordings?

The storage duration depends on the SD card’s capacity and video quality settings. Based on 1920x1080 Full HD resolution, you can expect:

  • 16GB SD card → Stores approximately 3.5 days of video
  • 128GB SD card → Stores up to 28 days of video

Note: The actual storage time may vary based on motion activity and recording settings.

3. What happens when the SD card storage is full? Do I need to delete files manually?

No, you do not need to manually delete old recordings.

EGLOO Cam follows the loop recording system, similar to CCTV and dashcams. This means that:

✅ When the SD card is full, the oldest recordings are automatically deleted to make space for new footage.
✅ The system continuously records in real-time without interruption.
✅ No manual file management is required.

4. Can I fast-forward or rewind videos stored on an SD card?

No, SD card recordings do not support fast-forward or rewind features directly.

To speed up or rewind footage, you must:

  1. Transfer the SD card files to a computer or another playback device.
  2. Use that device’s fast-forward/rewind functions to navigate through the video.

5. Does the SD card support the timeline playback feature?

No, the timeline playback feature is only available through EGLOO Cloud Service.

EGLOO’s timeline playback relies on cloud storage, allowing you to:

  • Instantly access recorded footage.
  • View a visual timeline of events.
  • Quickly navigate to key moments.

Since SD cards store data locally, we cannot control the playback functions, and timeline features are not available for SD card recordings.

6. Does the SD card support automatic event capture and clip storage?

No, automatic motion detection, sound detection, and event-based clip storage are only available through EGLOO Cloud Service.

SD card storage is designed for:
Continuous 24/7 recording
Storing full-day footage for later review
Affordable and simple recording solutions

If you need automatic event recording and convenient playback features, we highly recommend trying EGLOO Cloud Service.

7. Concerned about security? EGLOO Cloud is built for privacy.

We understand that cloud storage may raise privacy concerns, but rest assured:

We do NOT access or store your video files.
✅ Our patented security technology ensures your data is protected.
✅ EGLOO’s parent company, Truen, has operated CCTV systems for years with zero security breaches.

For those who find SD card management inconvenient, we encourage you to try EGLOO Cloud Service, which offers a free trial period so you can experience the benefits firsthand!
