EGLOO Cam Security & Unexpected Movement: Is It Hacked?

Hello from EGLOO!

We understand that security is one of the top reasons why customers choose EGLOO Cam, as our product is known for its strong protection against hacking.

However, some users have reported concerns such as:
The camera moving on its own
Sudden rotation without user input
Noticing movement even when the camera is turned off
The lens appearing to be manipulated

These issues may seem like hacking attempts, but rest assured—EGLOO Cam has never had a confirmed hacking case.

This guide explains:
Why your camera might be moving unexpectedly
How to resolve these issues
EGLOO Cam’s advanced security features

1. EGLOO Cam’s Industry-Leading Security System

🔒 Why is EGLOO Cam Secure?

1️⃣ Master Device Function

  • Even if your ID & password were leaked, the Master Device approval feature ensures that no unauthorized device can log in.
  • The Master Device (the phone used for the first camera setup) must approve any new login attempt.
  • Each device has a unique serial number, making duplicate logins impossible.

3️⃣ End-to-End Encryption

  • All video feeds and communication are encrypted to prevent external access.
  • EGLOO manages its own servers in South Korea, without relying on third-party or overseas cloud providers.
  • Every action, including logins, settings changes, and video access, is logged and monitored.

3️⃣ Trusted CCTV Manufacturer (Truen Inc.)

  • EGLOO is developed by Truen Inc., a leading security company supplying AI-powered CCTV to public institutions, government agencies, and large corporations.
  • Truen is a publicly listed company on the KOSDAQ stock market and holds multiple security patents.
  • Hacking a system this secure is virtually impossible.

2. Why Is My EGLOO Cam Moving by Itself?

If your camera rotates or moves unexpectedly, here are the most common causes and solutions:

📌 Cause 1: Another Shared User Adjusted the Camera

  • If your camera is shared with family members, they may have moved it remotely without informing you.
  • Check account login records in the Security Settings.
  • If movement logs exist, this means someone with access adjusted the camera.

📌 Cause 2: Automatic Reset on Power-Off & Restart

  • EGLOO Cam S4 & S4+ automatically reset when powered off.
  • When restarting, the lens returns to its default center position.
  • If you turn off the camera, then later notice the lens has moved, this is a normal reset function, not hacking.

Solution: Observe if movement occurs only after restarting.

📌 Cause 3: Unstable Power Supply

Your camera may experience power fluctuations, causing:

  • Random restarts, leading to movement resets.
  • Sudden shutdowns & reboots, causing the camera to rotate.

Solution:
✔ Use a 5V / 1A–2A adapter.
✔ Avoid overloaded power strips.
✔ Do not use excessively long USB cables (>3m).

📌 Cause 4: Weak or Unstable Wi-Fi Connection

  • If Wi-Fi disconnects frequently, the camera may reset and reconnect, leading to movement.
  • LED indicator flashing between red, blue, and green suggests repeated connection attempts.

Solution:
✔ Move the camera closer to the router for a stronger signal.
✔ Check for Wi-Fi signal interference from walls or electronic devices.
Test using a mobile hotspot → If it works fine, your Wi-Fi is the issue.

3. How to Check If Your Camera Was Hacked?

🛑 If you are still concerned about hacking, follow these steps:

Check Security Logs

  • Go to App Settings → Security → Login History
  • See who accessed your camera, when, and from which device.

Enable Login Approval

  • Make sure only the Master Device can approve logins.

Reset & Reconfigure the Camera

  • Delete the camera from the app.
  • Reset it using a pin (hold reset button for 3–5 seconds).
  • Re-add the camera with a new password.

Change Your Wi-Fi Password

  • If you suspect any unauthorized access, reset your router’s Wi-Fi password.

4. Final Thoughts: EGLOO Cam Is Secure
