EGLOO Cam SD Card Troubleshooting: Recognition Issues, Formatting Errors, and Compatibility

Hello from EGLOO!

Many customers have questions regarding SD card compatibility, recognition issues, and formatting errors when using EGLOO Cam.

This guide provides step-by-step solutions to help resolve these issues efficiently.

1. Which SD Cards Are Compatible with EGLOO Cam?

While EGLOO’s official 32GB microSD card is optimized for use, you can also use other brands.

Supported SD Card Specifications:

  • Storage Capacity: Up to 128GB
  • Card Type: MicroSD / MicroSDHC / MicroSDXC
  • File System: FAT32

Not Supported:
256GB, 512GB, or higher capacity SD cards
ExFAT or NTFS-formatted SD cards

If you need more than 6–7 days of storage, you may consider upgrading to a 128GB microSD card, which is fully supported.

2. How to Fix SD Card Recognition Issues

If your EGLOO Cam is not detecting your SD card, follow these troubleshooting steps:

📌 Step 1: Check for a Faulty SD Card

1️⃣ Remove the SD card from your EGLOO Cam.
2️⃣ Insert it into another device (smartphone, laptop, or card reader).
3️⃣ If the card is not recognized, it may be defective—try using a different SD card.

📌 Step 2: Ensure Proper Insertion & Remove Dust

1️⃣ Remove the SD card and check for dust or debris on the card or camera slot.
2️⃣ Blow away dust gently or use a dry cloth to clean the connectors.
3️⃣ Reinsert the SD card firmly until you hear a click sound.

📌 Step 3: Allow Time for Recognition

Even if properly inserted, EGLOO Cam may take time to detect the SD card.

1️⃣ Turn on the camera.
2️⃣ Wait a few minutes while the system initializes the SD card.
3️⃣ Check the app to see if the SD card is detected.

📌 Step 4: Format the SD Card (If Not Recognized)

If your SD card still isn’t detected, it may have an incompatible format.

How to Format the SD Card (Windows PC)

1️⃣ Insert the SD card into your computer or card reader.
2️⃣ Download FAT32 Format GUI (Download Here).
3️⃣ Open the program and select the SD card drive.
4️⃣ Click Start to format the SD card in FAT32 format.
5️⃣ Reinsert the SD card into EGLOO Cam and check if it is now recognized.

3. What to Do If None of These Solutions Work?

If you’ve tried all the troubleshooting steps and your SD card still isn’t recognized, there might be a hardware issue.
